so this is the start to the two socks on two circs. i actually shot this before i made more headway on them last night. i'm past the toe and just doing a 3x3 ribbing on the top. the toes look a little pointy for my taste but when i slip it on my foot it seems to be fine. can't wait 'til i get to the orange and yellow stripes for the full effect of the regia mini ringel yarn!!!!!
and in bns news:
the front the back
i finished seaming it up with an inside out crochet seam last night. i'm not thrilled. anyone remeber the "gordon gartrelle" episode of the cosby show when lisa makes a knock off of the expensive designer shirt for theo because the dad wouldn't give him the money to buy the real thing???? that's what it reminds me of, only not so tragic. i'll still sport it fresh!!!!!
started to re-seam the bns last night. i've got one more armhole and side seam to go tonight and it's finito!!! it looks much better with the thinner crochet yarn. still, the general fit is off, but i'll still sport it fresh and not care at all. it's the first major thing i've made from a pattern for myself and i'm gonna wear it. going for a bike ride in a few minutes with a co-worker. triathlon season is here and i gotta whip this ass into shape. we're aiming to do 3 this summer!!!!!!
mexico was amazing. lots of ocean and tequila and laughs with the girls. we decided to name ourselves "the slow girls gone mild". i don't have any pics to post yet, as i only shot film and no digi pics. i brought the socks to work on, but the bag never made it out of the car. i did get home early enough last night to do a few rounds on them. i'm just past the toe and doing a 3x3 ribbing on the top of the foot. gotta take some digi progress picks of those to post as well. stopped by the lys on my lunch break today and found a thinner crochet yarn to seem up the bns. maybe i'll get to that tonight. i noticed how everyone who's blogs i love pretty much write an entry every day. i never even used to keep a paper journal, so i need to be on top of posting more regularly. and more pictures!!!!!!
i'm gonna put the bns away until i can get thinner cotton yarn to crochet the trim and that won't be 'til after i get back from the long weekend. in the meantime, i did a swatch last night for a top from rebecca #25. and i started two socks on two circulars!!! still only using denise's toe up pattern and figuring out the two circulars part on my own. i did something weird in the beginning where i ended up getting purls instead of knits (i may have been knitting backward), but i'm gonna recast on tonight and see if i can get it right. i think knitting both socks at the same time is the only way to go for me. i know myself too well. i'l finish the first one and not want to make the second one. and i love the regia mini ringel yarn!!!!

NOT WHAT I THOUGHT
what i wrote to the knit along gang:
so i started to seam my bns last night and i have to say that i am
getting less and less excited about it as it comes together. the
armholes don't seem to be a problem, but the crochet seams are not
looking the way i had expected (i think the yarn i picked is too
thick) and my change up on the neckline is, well, "funky". now i
generally like "funky", but this is not "good funky". i'm also about
20 pounds heavier than i should be for wearing such a garment (that
will be solved now that it's triathlon season). i still plan to wear
it since it's the first top i've made, so i'll do the best in
finishing up the seams, post soem pics and eagerly move on to another
project. socks for sure. at least i don't think my feet are fat......
so i was stuck in a typical traffic jam on the way to work the other day. actually it was a police situation and we were at a complete hault for about 15 minutes. but luckily i had my BNS with me. i actually got a few rows in before we started moving again!!!!
so this week i've had the luxury at work of having a surplus of downtime as we're in between contracts and projects. so i'm getting the blog to look the way i want. i didn't even want to mess with the templates. i really wanted my own design. no comments and no links yet, but it was a feat just to get my own graphic at the top and to learn about html and tables. hopefully at the end of tomorrow i'll be ready to "go live" hee hee
on the knitting side of things, i've joined the knit along and everyone gave me a warm welcome!!! the BNS is coming along slowly. a few rows each night before bed is all i've managed. i've not been sleeping well, and the knitting has been keeping me up, so i've had to force myself to put it down by midnight and hit the sack. this past weekend i found the black, baby weight cotton that i'll use to crochet the seems together. i've altered that pattern so much to fit my dimensions and after finishing one side, i've decided that i like the purl side of the slubby yarn better. so now i'm going to crochet the seems together for a complete "inside out" look.
so this will eventually be the basis of my blog design. i did it myself real quick in photoshop. i just don't know html to edit my template and have this be at the top. like i said, i'm an html retard. so, now instead of staying up late and knitting, i'm staying up late and blogging. i'll never learn.......
so now that i've started i'm gonna stay up 'til the wee hours trying to tweak this thing when i should be getting to bed. i've been on vicious cycle of staying up late knitting 'til 2 or 3am and then draging my ass to work the next day at noon (i have the luxury of flex hours) and then having to put in my 8 hours, getting home by 9 and hitting the needles!!!!! so this blogging is gonna kill me. but i've been following so many blogs and felt like such a slug for not having one of my own. so since i'm doing the free version (with those lame ad banners) i'm gonna test out how i'll post photos from somewhere else. there aren't any knitting pics yet, you'll have to settle for my trip to honolulu for the marathon last december. oh, yeah, i run marathons too. but that's a whole other blog i can start some day........

...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve?
i've thought about this one before. i'd call the restaurant "whateva's cleva" and change the menu every day with all my favorites including, mexican, indian, soul food, veggie friendly, etc.
...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell?
yarn, duh!!!!!
...wrote a book, what genre would it be?
biographies are my favorite, but i can't imagine that my own would be a top seller. probably a crime story.
...ran a school, what would you teach?
tolerance
...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it?
oh, again, that's a difficult one. i'm a musical schizophrenic. some punk, some funk, some metal, some rap, and at least one sappy love song
how come this little pixie never looks like me????
