well, again, i have no pictures to show yet, mainly because i can't find the freakin' chord for my camera, but also because rachael tells it way better!!! i was in s.f. for the very same rally that rachael attended, but then she sent out the word, and a great group of women from up north all met up at this fabulous new zealander restaurant in alameda for a great stitch 'n bitch. i've never really been to one down here at home, but i might start checking them out!!! it started with just me and my wonderful host for the evening, elizabeth, arriving early and having a beer at the bar. soon, we were joined by kira and rachael, not rachael of yarn-a-go-go. the bartender quickly realized that we were "the knitters" and promptly urged us to grab a table before there weren't any left. in just an hour, we had maybe twelve amazing women all gathered around knitting great stuff in various stages!!!! when the first spot closed, we took it down the street and met a new group of stitchers and bitchers at a coffee house. and i learned a few new things that night: 1) rachaels are taking over the world 2) the wood pieces i've been finding in my yarn actually came from the sheep and not some wooden drying contraption as i first suspected 3) you don't bring the difficult lacey project to a stitch and bitch and 4) knitting goes surprisingly well with sea shanties, too bad i wasn't working on an aran pattern!!!! thanks again to all the ladies (and one guy!!!) who showed up and i hope to see you again soon!!!!
what can i say. nothing. i suppose it was a bit of post-election blues and a bit of treveling that's kept me away. it's been so long that i've nearly forgotten all my basic html skills. does anybody even stop by here anymore since i've had that ridiculous cartoon posted for months??? i wouldn't stop by i know that!!!
i'm actually up in san francisco as i write this. i came up for the pro choice rally and decide to stay and visit with family and firends. i also managed to get in a 10 mile run yesterday morning with the east bay aids marathon group!!! but today i'm jumping full throttle back into blog world as i get to meet two famous fellow knitting bloggers tonight!!! yes, miss elizabeth of run on sentences and miss rachael, marathoner extarodinaire, and blogger at yarn-a go-go will be meeting up with me tonight!!!! hopefully, i'll get to meet some other s.f. peeps.
and then pictures to post and hopefully back to regular programming. i've actually been knitting a lot!!!!

...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve?
i've thought about this one before. i'd call the restaurant "whateva's cleva" and change the menu every day with all my favorites including, mexican, indian, soul food, veggie friendly, etc.
...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell?
yarn, duh!!!!!
...wrote a book, what genre would it be?
biographies are my favorite, but i can't imagine that my own would be a top seller. probably a crime story.
...ran a school, what would you teach?
tolerance
...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it?
oh, again, that's a difficult one. i'm a musical schizophrenic. some punk, some funk, some metal, some rap, and at least one sappy love song
how come this little pixie never looks like me????
